Paul’s career began in 1979 as a Sales person at Ray White Paddington. Several Top Ten sales awards followed and during this period he found a niche moving from Residential to Commercial sales resulting in being employed as manager of the Commercial Division of L J hooker Toowong then Australia’s biggest Real Estate office.
Paul was approached to join Ray White Commercial to manage the Sale and Leasing division and was responsible for developing and training the sales and leasing team. After many successful years where the team grew from four people to over twenty, Paul was offered the LJ Hooker South Brisbane franchise. The franchise did not exist but Paul could see the potential of the area being so close to the CBD. After ten years and many sales and property awards and serving on the Franchisee Committee as Chairman Paul sold the business to resume his Commercial career.
Over a five year period Paul worked for Chesterton International and Burgess and Rawson. Major clients included the Queensland Government, Brisbane City Council , AMP, Pidgeons, Stockland to name a few. A major highlight was the disposal of $55 million of State Government property in Fortitude Valley, Bowen Hills and New farm which was the catalyst for the regeneration of those inner city precincts.
For the last ten years plus, Paul owned and ran two Management Rights complexes – the first in Springwood and the current one Oxley Mews being a complex of 105 detached houses. This has given Paul a unique insight to Strata Management business seeing the issues that arise from both sides.
Outside of his business career, Paul’s major interests are sailing and golf – competing in the former at a National level. Paul has been a member of Indooroopilly Golf Club for over twenty years and was elected to the Board in 2011. He also served as Pennant Manager for six years and ran Junior development programmes and represented the club in Pennant and Inter Club matches.
